Rework & customising

Refurbish, customise and protect know-how.

Not every component needs to be replaced. Together with European partners, we offer professional refurbishment and modernisation of screws, barrels and extrusion dies.

During rework, geometries can be optimised, wear-protection systems adapted and key components selectively added in Europe. This combines international cost advantages with local technical expertise while keeping critical process and product know-how with the customer or within Europe.

Possible adaptations

  • Geometry optimisation
  • Adaptation to new materials and formulations
  • Integration of suitable wear-protection systems
  • Performance and service-life optimisation
  • Local integration of key components

Wear protection & material selection

The right surface for the real operating conditions.

Abrasive and corrosive wear, as well as high processing temperatures, require precise material and surface selection. We assess the actual operating conditions and develop a technically and commercially suitable solution.

Operating conditions

  • Glass, carbon and mineral fillers
  • Corrosive and halogen-containing media
  • Fluoropolymers and aggressive process conditions
  • High-temperature applications
  • Combined abrasive and corrosive wear

Materials & systems

  • Chrome systems
  • Nickel-based alloys
  • Special steels and bimetallic designs
  • Carbide and hard-metal systems
  • Application-specific coatings

Our objective is not to promote a particular material, but to select the best overall solution for service life, process stability and Total Cost of Ownership.

Material focus

Components are designed around the polymer.

Our materials experience ranges from commodity polymers and fibre-reinforced or foamed systems to fluoropolymers and high-performance thermoplastics.
